Annual Ruby Bridges Day

Join us for our annual celebration IN November!

Families are invited to join our school community annual event in honoring Ms. Bridges and her courageous walk in 1960. On the BIG DAY, you will be encouraged to join with us on the blacktop at 8:20 am to hear words from our Student Council and Principal. After the stage presentation, students walk out of the black gates, down the sidewalk along the front of our school to enter through the front gates. ALL RUBY FAMILIES AND VISITORS are invited to line up in the drop-off zone to clap all of our Star students into a new school day! Activities will follow in classrooms as well as a Safe Routes Assembly for all grades. We hope you can join us for this annual tradition when the special date is announced in early November.

San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) has worked closely with Safe Routes 2 School and Martin Elementary School in South San Francisco to celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day each year. Like Ms. Ruby, Martin Elementary has been a pioneer in honoring Ms. Ruby's courage. Please check out their website below.

BOARD MEETING 11/8

A delegation of Ruby STAR students & staff will be opening the Nov. 8 board meeting with a reading of the AUSD Proclamation. Please join us on zoom at the board meeting at 6:30pm, or watch through Facebook. Our reading will start at 6:35 pm. You are also welcome to speak during public comments to share your support for Ruby Bridges Elementary.
